Privacy policy
How AFRO MONEY WEEK collects, uses and protects your personal data.
Last updated: 17 Oct 2026
AFRO MONEY WEEK (RC 7163138) ("Afro Money Week", "we", "us") runs afromoneyweek.com. We take your privacy seriously and process personal data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and, where it applies, the UK and EU GDPR.
What we collect
- Event registration: your name, email address and phone number, the event and ticket you chose, and your check-in status.
- Payments: processed by Paystack (or Nestuge, if you buy there). We never see or store your card details; we only receive confirmation of payment.
- Newsletter: your email address and, optionally, your name.
- Partnership enquiries: your name, company, email, phone and area of interest.
- Contact messages: whatever you choose to tell us.
- Technical data: your IP address, used only to protect forms from abuse and spam.
How we use it
- To confirm your registration and send event reminders and updates.
- To admit you to events using your ticket code.
- To send our newsletter, if you subscribed.
- To respond to partnership and contact enquiries.
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers that help us run Afro Money Week (for example our web host, email delivery and payment providers), and only as needed.
Your choices and rights
Every reminder email has a link to stop further reminders, and every newsletter has an unsubscribe link. You can ask us to access, correct or delete your data at any time by emailing hello@afromoneyweek.com.
How long we keep it
We keep registration records for up to three years after an event, for reporting and to invite you to future editions, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Team access requires individual accounts with strong passwords and optional two-step verification, and backups are stored securely.
